About Japan numbers
Japan uses the country code +81 and its telecommunications sector is overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). Japanese mobile numbers begin with 070, 080, or 090 — in international format that becomes +81 70, +81 80, or +81 90 (dropping the trunk zero). Landline area codes in Japan are variable in length: Tokyo uses 03, Osaka 06, Yokohama 045, and Nagoya 052, with the subscriber number filling out to a standard total digit count. Japan has extremely high mobile penetration, dominated by NTT Docomo, SoftBank, and au (KDDI).

Will my Japan bank still send OTP codes?
